从事其他职业的人转行做产品经理需要具备3个基本条件：产品能力、良好的心态和转行方法。
一、具有基本的产品能力
在转岗前要系统性地学习产品经理入门的知识，包括基本的文档处理能力、原型设计能力、需求分析能力、产品设计能力等，这些基本能力是转岗的敲门砖。
1.获得产品能力的途径：
（1）寻找产品案例自主地学习和练习。
（2）报一些产品经理培训课程。
（3）读相关的产品经理图书。
二、具有良好的心态
很多从其他职业转做产品经理的人可能已经有了一定的工作经验，这个时候要从事一个新的职业，首先要放平心态，以一个学习者的姿态来面对新的职业。
很多人不愿意从产品助理开始做起，想直接转为产品经理。这时候，需要看个人现阶段的产品能力。如果觉得自己能直接胜任产品经理的工作，且有合适的机会，那就可以直接转为产品经理。如果觉得自己还需要锻炼，那就放低姿态从产品助理开始，付出学习成本和其他成本。
三、具有相应的转行方法
（1）内部转岗
如果你对工作环境和业务熟悉，并且个人的工作能力很强，已被公司认可，那么内部转岗比较容易，岗位迁移的成本相对较低。
（2）社招转岗
如果自己在现有公司没有转产品经理的机会，或自己的能力还没有得到公司的认可，还可以通过社招转岗。社招转岗相对内部转岗来说要难一些，要经过基本的简历撰写和现场面试等阶段。
两种转岗方式分别适用于不同的情况，根据自身情况择优选用。
